The 1957 Les Paul 3-Pickup Custom is presented with all the appointments and legendary tone of the original. No detail has been overlooked, including a solid, non weight-relieved mahogany body with carved mahogany top. Vintage-style Kluson kidney tulip tuners are mounted in a straight line just as they were on the original. The 24 -inch scale length neck is made from one solid piece of mahogany, and attached to the body using a long neck tenonone of the Les Paul's more distinguishing characteristics of the 1950s. The neck has the Gibson '50s "C"-shaped neck profile and is topped by a 22-fret ebony fingerboard outfitted with block inlays matching the size and color of the originals. This unusual Custom has three pickups: two of Gibson's legendary Burstbucker 1 pickups in the neck and middle pickup position, and a BurstBucker 2 pickup in the bridge position. BurstBucker pickups deliver all the subtle variations of true, classic humbucker tone by using historically "unmatched" bobbin windings and Alnico II magnets. The original 1957 Les Paul Custom was the first Custom model to offer the Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece and so does this edition. The 1957 Les Paul Custom is adorned with gold hardware and is framed with multi-ply white and black binding on both the top and back. The multi-bound headstock has a prominent five-piece split diamond inlay and the Gibson logo. Each guitar also comes with a Gibson Custom case, custom care kit, and certificate of authenticity. Early '50s rounded neck profile delivers the vintage feel players love. BurstBucker 1 and 2 pickups deliver famous vintage Les Paul tone. In an effort to jump start the steadily declining sales of the Les Paul model, Gibson abandoned the familiar gold finish and used a translucent, cherry sunburst finish which showed off the figured maple tops that were often used on Les Pauls. The Inspired By Warren Haynes Les Paul Standard features a solid mahogany body with a carved plain maple top, a one-piece mahogany neck and a rosewood fretboard. Burstbucker pickups provide the big, warm sound for which Warren is famous. The finish, handpicked by Warren, is a beautiful burst whose color is somewhere between lemondrop and iced tea. The included CAE Sound preamp has a unity-gain buffer that, when activated, maintains a consistent tone when volume is lowered. It also preserves signal strength and quality when running through multiple effects. It was important for Warren to have balance between the pickups, to have a smooth sound from the neck pickup, and that when you flip the pickup switch, it doesn't sound like you just switched guitars.
